The education loan is generally provided by the public sector banks. There are 3 slabs for study abroad programs. Rs. 4.00 Lacs : Against Admission letter and based on repayment capacity Rs. 7.50 Lacs : Against suitable & acceptable guarantor and based on repayment capacity Rs. 20.00 Lacs : Against collateral security and based on repayment capacity However, the banks are not very encouraging for the first two slots to provide education loan since the students ask for extension due to PG courses or MCI screening test clearance period. However, if it is backed with collateral property, it is always preferable by the banks. MOKSH can support this activity without any guarantee for the loan especially if the students are from Mumbai, Pune and Goa. The repayment starts after completion of the course. The amount needs to be paid along with the interest in the form of EMI in the next 15 years. The interest rates are generally in the range of 12% but it varies from bank to bank.
