The Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles also known as CEGEP University is located in Quebec, Canada. Established in 1967, it is a public higher education institution. The CEGEP is comprised of several campuses that are spread across the Quebec region. It consists of 3,000+ students, majorly international students.

The Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles campuses are 5 in number, named as Carleton-sur-Mer Campus, Gaspe Campus, Magdalen Islands Campus, Quebec School of Fisheries and Aquaculture located in Grande-Rivière and Montreal Campus.

The CEGEP mainly aims at student's overall growth by delivering valuable practical and theoretical knowledge. Hence, it enrolls professional national and international faculties. The Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles offers two types of programs: pre-university and technical. The duration for the Pre university program is two years, while the technical program duration is three years. The study programs for the International students are delivered in English language. The University retains the faculty of IT, Business Management, and Logistics.

Cost of Living in Quebec

The school of CEGEP offers two types of accommodation apartments and pavilion rooms. The service is given by the university hostel three to six furnished single rooms with a fully equipped kitchen, electric stove, refrigerator, table and chairs, storage cabinets, and a bathroom. Moreover, room sharing is allowed as per your choice or the university will take care of finding your roommates.

The Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles gives students discounts on tuition fees. Nonetheless, University provides two types of scholarships Exchange Course scholarships and Perspective Québec Scholarships. The scholarship is given to students who all achieved excellence in their previous academic year.

As per the rule of Canada, international students can work 20 Hours per week. Moreover, international students can easily work part-time on a student visa without requiring any work permit. The students can earn a good amount for living and also manage their additional monthly expenses.

After studying at CEGEP GIM as an International student, students plan on staying in the country for Post Study Work. Students are eligible to apply for a temporary residence permit. After graduating, students are allowed to stay in Canada or any of the Schengen countries for 12-15 months, which enables them to look for jobs or get self-employed. Furthermore, the students must obtain the Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) as soon as they arrive in Canada.
